Human Immortality

Influence never dies. You may talk to me about the imprint of your parents then say, “but they are dead.” No, they're not, for you, they are still alive and their influence lives on through you – for better or for worse.
We each ripple the pond of human life. Some make dainty circles while others make big splashes. Yet your ripples continues.
This is human immortality.

Dancer Ray Bolger did a performance at the Convention Center in Las Vegas. I read that it was one of the most touching, philosophical dance number ever seen. After he was finished, the lights dimmed and he said, “Each of the Greats left a little something on the floor.”
The lights then went out and a pencil-point spotlight focus on a stool on stage. On top of the stool were Ray’s shoes. Then he said from the side of the stage, “When I go, I would like to leave a little something on the floor.” The crowd broke up.
He was saying what we all desire – to leave a residue of our life, a legacy for others. He felt the influence of others and the responsibility to leave traces of his legacy for others.
What imprint, ripple or legacy are you leaving behind for the next generation?Human Imm
